Why does Hub:One set my minimum State of Charge at 15%? (SolaX only)
Hub:One will hold a battery charge at 15% to avoid the connected Solax inverter going into 'idle mode'. If the battery drops to 10% the inverter will go into this mode and will become unresponsive to any of our commands.
This means we'll lose out on any opportunity to charge during cheaper periods or participate in any energy arbitrage opportunities until the solar panels charge it back out of idle mode. Idle mode 'wakes up' when the connected solar panels receive a minimum threshold of energy
Generally the 5% of extra battery capacity that you 'miss out' on from a 15% minimum State of Charge is more than made up for by our energy optimisation processes.
